Position Summary:
The Supervisor will manage facilities and grounds, ensuring they meet the needs of faculty, staff, and student by directing a team of skilled and semi-skilled employee's. The Supervisor will be responsible for repair, maintenance, and functionality responding to a variety of needs and issues that they will address independently. They manage operating budgets and plan for future needs to support university activities at the site, ensuring compliance with university rules, regulations, and policies. They are responsible for assessing facilities needs for long-term functionality, develop project plans including new construction, remodeling, major renovations, and similar multi-layered projects.

    Minimum Qualifications:
    • High School Diploma or equivalent
    • Five (5) years of experience performing a variety of semi-skilled maintenance and repairs
    • Experience developing and managing budgets
    • Experience using computer software and applications for word processing, project and budget management, email, and internet research.
    • Reading and interpreting blueprints
    • Operating and maintaining light cars and trucks, utvs
    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Demonstrated ability to complete several projects simultaneously; ability to effectively work with several university support units, facility users, and management.
    • Documented knowledge of general building safety codes relating to fire doors, electrical safety, egress routes, emergency lights, fume exhaust systems, etc.
    • Possess adequate skills in math, reading, problem solving, and oral and written communications.
    Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:
    • Ability to lift, carry and/or otherwise move items weighing approximately 50 lbs; bend, stoop, and work in inclement weather conditions.
    • Able and willing to work on ladders, lifts, scaffolding etc.
    Required Licensures, Certifications or other
    • Respond to emergencies, working weekends and evenings as needed, to meet the business needs of the facility.
    • Possess a valid motor vehicle operators license and be able to meet policy requirements for driving University vehicles.
